History of Team PSP
by Scott Wilson
After being introduced to a Thundercat in 2005, we invested in a race package and joined Thundercat Racing for the two races of the season. The competition was tough, we were new and we were generally finishing at the back of the pack.
In 2006 we were invited to go to South Africa for the Thundercat World Championship where we gained a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge. We did really well throughout the contest only to lose our gearbox on a reef during the long haul! The loss of these crucial points sent us tumbling down the leader board, a major disappointment for us, but that’s racing!
The Nationals are held in many different locations throughout the UK and in 2006 we were training intensely, competing regularly and really noticing the improvements. We narrowly missed out on third position overall for the season due to a spectacular flip which cost us those much needed points.
In 2006 the International racing, supporting the P1 Powerboat Racing, we achieved podium finishes in Malta, Portugal and Germany.
